Stephen Liou is the founding Designer and cofounder of ZHOYUE Architectural Façade Design & Consulting Co., Ltd, commonly known as ZY. With over 20-yrs of professional career as a façade designer and practitioner, he has not only been systemetically expertise in curtain wall technology and craftsmanship,but also presents much more skills and achievements over esthetic design for details and segments of building façade, as well as integration design with long-spanstructure and attached skin.
Based on experienced and comprehensive technological services of curtain wall, dedicate to achieve high quality of products and realize the goal of architecturedesign in right way, this is ZY’s principle in which Stephen has played a key role firmly to get a good co-work with architects and clients at a high level platformto introduce really productive, constructive and value-added design and service, logically and subsequently, the designing outcomes established in-depth, full-range and multi-disciplinary integration will be the sturdy basis for technological consulting in CA phase.
Apart from being presiding designer of façade of several large-scale, mixed-use projects, Stephen has led the curtain wall design of many skyscraper towers of office or hotel, enterprise headquarters, commercial centers, luxury residences, airports and exhibition halls together working with lots of well-known architecture institutes domestically and globally, the extensive experiences include the early cases like Shanghai Grand theater, National Grid Office Center, Beijing China central place and T3 terminal of Capital Airport in Beijing, etc, and also the high-ends projects in recent 10 years, e.g. Shanghai performing arts center of EXPO 2010 (later re-named as SH Mercedes center ), Park HYATT Hotel and the MIXC P2 in Hangzhou, Deji Plaza P1/2 in Nanjing, Nanjing WTC commercial hub,One-Shenzhen Bay, Block 8 of SH Hongqiao CBD and Shenzhen Center Tower, etc.
Being with the strong ability of design and sense of responsibility, Stephen has together with ZY team been dedicated and fruitfully presented in three major fields as esthetic design for details and segments of building facade, curtain wall structural details design and integration design for long-span structures with affiliated building skin, which is always rationally and prudentially carried along with efficient study from five perspectives as Function, Esthetic, Structure, Integration ofmulti-disciplines and Budget balancing. However, this is the essential way ZY works to fulfill the good job with real high values to the project.
